0.5 points per reception — the most common scoring format in fantasy football. Toggle to full PPR or standard anytime.

Why half-PPR is the default

Half-PPR (0.5 points per catch) is the scoring format used by default in most ESPN, Yahoo and Sleeper leagues. It exists because full PPR over-rewards high-volume / low-impact receptions, while standard scoring (zero per catch) under-rewards pass-catching backs and slot receivers.

The 0.5 reception bonus keeps target volume meaningful without distorting positional rankings. It is the closest format to a “true” representation of fantasy production for most analysts.

Half-PPR FAQs

What is half-PPR scoring?

Half-PPR awards 0.5 points per reception in addition to standard scoring (yards and TDs). It sits between standard scoring (no PPR bonus) and full PPR (1 point per reception), and is the default for most ESPN, Yahoo, and Sleeper leagues.

Is half-PPR the same as 0.5 PPR?

Yes — they are identical. Half-PPR, 0.5 PPR, and "half point per reception" all describe the same format: 0.5 fantasy points awarded for every catch a player makes.

Is half-PPR better than full PPR?

Half-PPR balances player values better — workhorse RBs aren't penalised vs pass-catching backs as much as in full PPR, and slot WRs still get rewarded for volume. Full PPR favours high-target receivers more aggressively.
