How FPL bonus points (BPS) actually work
Bonus points come from the Bonus Points System (BPS), a hidden score that tracks every on-field action — passes, tackles, key passes, big chances created, recoveries, errors leading to a goal, and more. After every match the three highest BPS scorers earn 3, 2 and 1 bonus points on top of their base FPL total.

How are FPL bonus points calculated?
FPL bonus points use the Bonus Points System (BPS), which scores every on-field action — passes completed, tackles won, key passes, big chances created, recoveries, and more. After each match the top three BPS scorers earn 3, 2, and 1 bonus points respectively. Goals, assists and clean sheets carry the highest BPS weighting, so goalscorers and creators usually dominate.
How many points is a goal worth in FPL?
Goalkeepers and defenders earn 6 points per goal, midfielders earn 5 points, and forwards earn 4 points. Defenders score the most because goals from the back are rarer and statistically more valuable to a clean-sheet-driven asset.

Goalkeepers and defenders earn 4 points for a clean sheet, midfielders earn 1 point. To qualify, a player must play at least 60 minutes without their team conceding while they were on the pitch. Forwards do not earn clean sheet points.
