Fantasy Point Calculators

Dynasty Fantasy Football Calculator

Calculate long-term dynasty value by position, age, and projected output — and compare players side-by-side to evaluate trades.

How dynasty value is calculated

Dynasty value is a function of how many elite seasons a player has left and how productive each of those seasons is likely to be. A 22-year-old wide receiver projected for 150 points per season may be worth more than a 29-year-old projected for 180, because the younger player has 10+ productive years ahead versus 3–4 for the veteran.

The calculator uses positional age curves — running backs fade fastest (typical peak: 22–26), while quarterbacks can remain elite into their mid-30s. A discount rate is applied per position to account for the risk that production declines faster than expected.

Use the Compare Player toggle to evaluate dynasty trades side-by-side. The trade edge summary shows which player holds more long-term value and by how much.

Dynasty FAQs

What is dynasty fantasy football?

Dynasty fantasy football is a multi-year format where managers keep their entire roster from year to year. Unlike redraft leagues that start fresh each season, dynasty leagues require long-term roster building — prioritising young players with many elite seasons ahead over older veterans who may decline quickly.

How is dynasty value calculated?

Dynasty value is primarily driven by three factors: (1) projected fantasy output per season, (2) age and the number of elite seasons remaining at the position, and (3) positional discount rate — running backs age out faster than quarterbacks or wide receivers. A young RB at 22 with 150 projected points per season is worth more than the same production from a 29-year-old.

What is a taxi squad in dynasty?

A taxi squad (also called a practice squad) is a designated roster section in dynasty leagues for developmental players — typically rookies or second-year players. Players on the taxi squad cannot be started but are protected from the waiver wire. Most dynasty leagues allow 3–5 taxi squad spots.

Which positions age best in dynasty fantasy?

Quarterbacks have the longest fantasy careers, often remaining elite well into their 30s. Wide receivers typically peak in their mid-to-late 20s and can produce into their early 30s. Running backs have the shortest dynasty shelf life — most decline significantly after age 28–30 due to the physical demands of the position.

How do dynasty trade values work?

Dynasty trade value compares two players' long-term projected output. A 22-year-old WR with great upside may be worth more than a 28-year-old WR currently producing at a higher level, because the younger player has more elite seasons ahead. Use the calculator above to compare side-by-side dynasty values for any two players.
